DIY Magnetic Bookmarks

I have been wanting to buy magnetic bookmarks for so long, but they are quite expensive. They looked easy to make and they were so much cheaper to make myself so I decided to go to my local craft store to pick up some supplies.

For this DIY, you'll need:
- White cardstock paper (construction paper)
- Adhesive magnets
- Straight edge cutter or scissors
- Optional: Laminating sheets

Step 1: Find photos to put on your bookmark. I used tumblr because it's really easy to find nice photos. (my tumblr)

Step 2: Open a new document on photoshop that has these dimensions:

Step 3: Paste the photo that you want onto the document and size it correctly so that it fits on the bottom half of the layer. I added a marker (the blue line) halfway through the layer so that I know exactly where the middle is.

Step 4: Flatten the image.

Step 5: Select all and stroke. Your bookmark will now have a black outline. I like to do this step because when you cut out these bookmarks, you have guidelines on where to cut.

Step 6: I try to save paper so I usually fit 6 bookmarks on one piece of paper. Start a new document/image this is 8.5inx11in and copy and past each bookmark onto one page.

Step 7: Print them out. I ended up not printing these out because I already have 9, and I don't really need anymore right now.
Step 8: Cut the bookmarks out. (Optional: Now is when you want to stick your laminating sheets on the bookmarks if you want them to be more durable and shiny)
Step 9: Fold the bookmarks in half.
Step 10: Stick adhesive magnets onto the bookmark.

Now you're done! If you do this DIY, take a photo and tag me on instagram at @celinereads or use the hashtag #celinereadsdiy

I hope this DIY/Tutorial was helpful. This is the first diy/tutorial I have ever done so I apologize if it is not that great.
